We Are Creatives.
The goal of the fine arts department is to develop the creativity and God-given talent within each student from Preschool through 12th grade. Students are provided opportunities to hone their skills in drama, musical theater, visual arts, choir, music, and digital platforms.

ELC Arts

Specialty Classes
ELC Students are provided opportunities to participate in a variety of arts as a part of our unique specialty classes. Students participate in weekly music class and arts activities with our Music instructor and Specialties director. Classes use a variety of mediums and provide our students with exposure to a variety of arts and sustainability experiences in which to express their creativity and ownership.

Lower School Arts

Musical Arts
Lower School students participate in music classes twice-weekly and learn the basics of music through singing and a variety of musical instruments, including percussion instruments. Fourth graders begin to learn the recorder and our fifth graders lead our weekly chapel worship time each week, providing a strong musical foundation for the future.

Visual Arts
Students visit art classes twice-weekly and are provided the opportunity to use a variety of media throughout their classes, including but not limited to drawing, painting, collage, pottery and sculpture, plus much more!

Performing Arts
Our lower school students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of performing arts during their time in our lower school. They can hold minor roles in our upper school productions, participate in our yearly Black History Month program, and our Spring and Winter performances.

Upper School Performing Arts

Theatre Performances
Every year our student body performs a full-scale musical production under the direction of our Fine Arts Director. Past performances have included Godspell, Cinderella, Hundred Dresses, and many more.

Musical Performances
Our Choir is active and vibrant, performing multiple times a year and participating in a variety of styles. Students also have the opportunity to participate on our worship team which leads our Upper School Chapel services weekly.

Technical Theatre
Students in our upper school also have the opportunity to learn how to support the stage performers through our technical theatre course. Students learn lighting, set design, sound engineering and costume design. This engaging course is exciting and very hands-on.

Upper School Visual and Digital Arts

Visual Arts
Every Upper School student is required to complete two fine arts credits during their tenure, and a popular option is our Visual Arts courses. Our teacher is an accomplished artist herself, and is a professional clothing designer in addition to her job here! Students can learn a variety of mediums, including paint, collage, sculpture and digital design.

Digital Design
Our media class provides students with the opportunity to learn a variety of digital media skills such as photography, video creation, and green screen work just to name a few. Students also have the opportunity to be trained in Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Illustrator and many more.

Digital Publishing
Our award-winning Yearbook staff navigates the process of publishing from beginning to end in this exciting class. Our staff has won the Jostens National Yearbook Excellence Award for many years and produces an amazing publication each year. Students learn photography, design, and business skills in the creation of our yearbook.

Design & Production
